We are starting the drywall tomorrow on our custom home. Our drywaller/painter uses S.W. paints. We will be using a soft white for the ceiling (knock down finish) and soft white on all doors and trim. I need to pick a basic neutral/taupe for the walls (smooth finish). I don't want something builder grade boring!!! We will be changing alot of our furniture and decorations as time goes on and will select more dramatic paint colors at that time. I could sure use all your suggestions.
cherri,
take this over to Home Decorating. That's where the home decorators hang out. You'll get the best advice there!

Hi cherri,
Agree with Michael, you'll get lots of good advice from Home Dec here. Check out the Home Dec Gallery section, too, under favorite colors to see lots of pics.
Just wanted to mention I was in a new construction the other day and the walls were painted SW Bagel (trim was a softer, creamier white, as you mention). It was almost throughout, and it really was a nice backdrop for furniture, art, etc. It's a bit on the golden undertones side, but just enough to give it some substance without knocking you down ;)
Thank you for your responses, have posted on Home Decorating and receiving some great advise.
Moonshadow - I will add Bagel to my list of possibilities.
Appreciate your taking the time to answer.
