I am getting ready to paint our 10x20 bonus room. My hope is to eventually turn it into a media room. I have seen some people paint the opposite walls one color and the sides a different color. I was thinking of a grey color on the 20ft sides and a dark bugandy or cranberry on the 10ft walls. what effect will this give the room? the door is on one 10ft wall and a double window on the opposite 10ft wall. That is the only door and window in the room. will this color scheme make room look bigger, smaller, shorter or what. thanks for your advice.

My painter bid $4.25 sq. ft. including materials per foot for my home with for rooms with crown (all except bonus room, attic, and garage), and $2.00 per foot for room without crown. I have a lot of maple cabinets, island, build-in bookcases, window seat, 9 foot china. 5 foot pantry, seven foot bar, mud room, utility cabinets 6 bathrooms. Does this seem like a fair price? Some of the paint will including glazing on the crown.
